The United States currency banknote design has multiple functions that include security measures, identification, and conceptual aesthetics. The study depicted explores a different approach to both security features and the overall aesthetic qualities of the banknote for the United States. There are various steps implemented in order to achieve these outcomes and developments to the new concept of the fifty-dollar banknote. One central question is regarded during this process: How can different security improvements for the United States Banknote be implemented while incorporating a design that substantiates the nation’s diverse and unique identity? The design methodology involved utilizing Adobe Illustrator to perfect the outlined layout of the banknote, subsequently, the outline was exported to Adobe Photoshop to apply engraved effects, gradient colors and complex patterns. The improved concept of the United States banknote delves into American Wildlife and the complex relationships among the animals. Portrayed on the front of the banknote is a grizzly bear and her cubs, evoking the American “dream-like” unity amongst the family. Depicted in contrast to the front, the back of the banknote illustrates the prey of the Grizzly bear, the Chinook Salmon. This relationship between the hunter and the prey emphasizes the life cycle of these animals. Furthermore, the banknote incorporates enhanced security measures to help prevent counterfeiting and ensure invulnerability. These included watermarks, holographic elements, serial number, and security thread are implemented to ensure high security standards. The study aims to present an alternative banknote design that not only prevent sophisticated counterfeiting but also reflect the diverse and vibrant nature of the United States.
